Truck driver scheduling with interdependent routes and working time constraints

In transportation and logistic applications, scheduling hours of service for multiple, interdependent truck drivers to ensure compliance with regulatory resting requirements time windows is an extremely challenging task. Models previously designed schedule routes have been capable capturing such scenarios. However, until now, there has no efficient way when facing multiple types interdependency constraints. To overcome this challenge, we introduce properties driver schedules under working constraints single-day journeys. A two-stage algorithm exploits these quickly produce a large number routes. The minimizes the latest completion while ensuring that all can complete their route sufficient recovery periods within hours. Computational experiments demonstrate superiority approach compared both existing algorithms mathematical programming approach. • Identification schedules. Backtracking employing properties.
